What is difference between HTML 4 & HTML 5 in Hindi? HTML tutorials in Hindi | Interview Questions
In HTML 5 we write only !DOCTYPE html but in HTML 4 we have to write little lengthy code in the doctype like given below.
!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN” “http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd”
HTML 5 has new tags like canvas, audio, video, these tags are not available in HTML 4.
Multimedia is supported in HTML 5 but in HTML 4 we use flash player for multi-media feature.
HTML 4 was less mobile-friendly. but HTML 5 language is more mobile-friendly.
Semantic tags were not present in HTML 4 but New tags are available in HTML 5 like nav, header, footer, article, aside, section etc.
In HTML 4 div tag is used for separating two parts. but in HTML 5 div tag is not mandatory.
Deprecated Tags
The following tags are not available in HTML5 anymore and their function is better handled by CSS −
center, big, u, font, frame, acronym, applet, basefont, dir, frameset, isindex, noframes, s, strike, tt
