I made a hair accessory to match the drawstring bag. It's a cute, puffy fabric flower. It's easy to make, and you can freely combine colors and sizes. I used Edo-style braided cord and bias tape to give it a Japanese feel. It's perfect for fireworks displays or when going out in a yukata.
●Materials: Fabric scraps are OK for the flower
Petals: 5 x 5 cm (size can be any square) - 5 pieces
Flower center: 4 mm diameter - 1 piece
Backing fabric: 1 piece
Edo-style braided cord: Medium to thick, 60 cm
Bias tape: 50 cm - 60 cm, extra-thick yarn or cord (to put inside the bias tape)
Beads: 2 pieces
A little cotton
Most of the fabrics used in Fabric Play are repurposed kimono fabrics. Many kimonos made during the bubble economy era are currently being discarded. Those made during the Showa era are very valuable, representing the pinnacle of craftsmanship, and will likely never be made again. I hope that as many people as possible can use these exquisite fabrics.
I sell cut kimono fabric at my handmade shop.
7 pieces, kimono width x 20cm, including shipping, for 1000 yen.
