"White Swan" is one of Russia's most closed and strict penal colonies. People whom society prefers not to see or hear are serving life sentences here. This film is not about forgiveness or justification. It's about what happens to a person over decades of complete isolation, total control, and the absence of a future.
We tell the stories of those sentenced to life imprisonment, show their daily lives, their regime, their psychological changes, and attempt to answer the fundamental question: does anything human remain in a person when there is almost no hope of freedom?
