Capture PS5 Headsets Audio on OBS with Elgato, Analog (Wired) Controller Method
We give you step by step directions for the best, least expensive way to capture PlayStation 5 (or 4) gameplay audio on OBS. The PS5 is a tricky beast, but you can hear the audio without delay and stream it. You will need connectors that cost $10-$25 to get your OBS stream PS5 audio with your wired (analog) headsets.

2:13 1. Connect headset wire to female 3.5mm adapter.
2:29 2. Connect adapter 3.5 mm male to PS5 (PS4) controller.
2:39 3. Connect 3.5 line to female in Y-adapter (skip 3 if you have an Elgato chatlink)
3:05 4. Connect 3.5mm line to capture card line in to the capture card or line in of your computer
4:00 5. Turn on PS5. Log in. Hit PS key and select sound - output device - headset (controller)
If you are still not getting sound to OBS and your headset, then you need to configure the following on your streaming computer:
4:40 6. Add the "video capture device" to OBS - properties - audio output - "capture only" should work
5:08 7. In the OBS audio mixer right click the gear "Advanced Audio Options"
5:30 8. "Advanced Audio Options" - audio monitoring - monitor and output for both desktop and "video capture device"
5:44 9. If you have Elgato HD60S or HD60S+ download the 4K utility at https://www.elgato.com/en/downloads
Install it.
6:06 10. Open it and click the gear icon in the top right. Select "audio input" - "analog audio".
