PCIe 4.0 on PCIe 2.0 with AMD Radeon RX 7600 8GB and 32 Games Tested at 1440p
I got bored again and I combined an old PC with a newer graphics adapter: AMD Radeon RX 7600 OC 8GB DDR5
The results were (again) spectacular and I am sharing with you this experience.
PCI express is backward and forward compatible which means you can put a 4.0 gpu in a 2.0 slot and also a 2.0 gpu will work on a 4.0 slot. And this can continue until we list all generations. However, there is one important thing to be mentioned: the bandwidth is limited to the slowest. There are also many factors that will contribute to bottlenecks so this is not a simple task. However, electronically and physically all PCIe generations are compatible.
