How to Fix Keyboard not showing on Screen on Steam Deck (On Screen Keyboard)
If your Steam Deck’s on-screen keyboard isn’t showing up, here are a few steps you can try to fix the issue:
Switch Between Modes:
Press and hold the Power Button until the power menu appears.
Select “Switch to Desktop Mode.”
After switching, double-tap “Return to Gaming Mode” to go back1.
Use the Keyboard Shortcut:
Press the Steam + X buttons simultaneously to bring up the virtual keyboard.
Check Steam Client:
Ensure the Steam Client is running in the background. The keyboard won’t appear in Desktop Mode if the Steam Client isn’t active.
Restart the Steam Deck:
Long press the power button to turn off the Steam Deck completely.
