Aloft is a sandbox survival game where you must survive on islands floating around a perpetual hurricane in the center of the map. Build your base and sail with the winds, discovering new islands and finding new resources, technologies, and equipment upgrades while battling fungal corruption.
Learn more about your origins by uncovering the secrets of the ruins of a long-gone civilization, and find answers to its demise by reaching the greatest heights and overcoming the challenges of hurricanes.
You'll have complete freedom when it comes to crafting and constructing sails for your island. The height and width of masts can be adjusted, sails can be rotated and extended, and special sails allow you to move attachment points and inflate/deflate the fabric, allowing you to create any decoration imaginable. The sails you create are then used to navigate the island map, navigating wind currents and jet streams to move faster. Create buildings that will protect you from harsh winds or allow the wind to pass through, build bridges and ziplines to quickly travel across an archipelago of floating islands, grow crops and raise animals by collecting water from passing clouds, and construct windmills that will automate your machines and admire the beautiful landscapes. Jump off and fly freely on a glider, dancing with birds and clouds.
Some islands are afflicted by a dangerous natural force in the form of a fungal infection. Infected flora grow dangerous and colorful mushrooms, and animals fall victim to corruption. Learn how to develop treatments for various forms of fungus and cleanse the islands of corruption. By healing and liberating the ecosystem, gain access to new animals, livestock, crops, and resources.
A gigantic hurricane in the center of the map hides answers to questions about your past and future within its eyes. Rock fragments, lightning strikes, toxic spores, and subzero temperatures make travel difficult. If that weren't enough, the roar of ancient leviathans can be heard through the storm.
Build windmills to harness the power of the wind and automate machines across the island. Optimize windmill placement and find the best winds to power your production. Create automated oars to move your island, machines to mine advanced resources, or even traps to protect your islands from enemies.
Create your own island in the island editor. Save it to appear in your game, or export it to share your creation in a friend's game!
Embark on an adventure with up to seven friends and conquer the skies together. Perform chain attacks while fighting as a group, take a meaningful role in daily activities, and help your crew navigate and discover new things as they explore.
