Antique Slate Clock 86 Pt 6 Main spring into barrel
This video is continuation from my previous video No 5 on this clock. using a copy Olie Baker mainspring winder - but first I attempt (and fail) to replace the spring in the barrel by hand. then I explain finding the correct size collar to wind off the barrel and hold in the collar for spring removal, inspection and cleaning. A collar too small and you damage the spring and or the arbor and one too big but "workable" has its problems in loosing the tail with the hook hole, back into the collar so you have to try again - but this time don't make the same mistake again, I did and had to try three times until I realize the mistake I was making - explained at the end of the video.
