Project Zomboid is an open-world sandbox game overrun with zombies. It poses a simple question: how will you die?
In the towns of Muldraugh and West Point, survivors must loot houses, build defenses, and do everything they can to postpone their inevitable demise day after day. No help comes—their survival depends on their own cunning, luck, and ability to outrun a relentless horde.
A hardcore sandbox zombie survival game with a focus on realistic survival.
Online multiplayer survival with persistent player execution servers.
Hundreds of zombies with swarming mechanics and in-depth visual and auditory systems.
A complete aiming system and real-time lighting, sound, and visibility mechanics. Hide in the shadows, stay silent, and turn off the lights at night—or at least hang sheets in the windows.
Vehicles with full physics and deep, realistic gameplay mechanics.
Use tools and items to craft weapons, build barricades, and cook. You can even construct zombie-proof forts by chopping down trees, sawing wood, and scavenging for supplies.
Manage depression, boredom, hunger, thirst, and disease as you try to survive.
Day turns to night. Power dwindles. Hordes migrate. Winter sets in. Nature slowly reclaims the land.
Farming, fishing, woodworking, cooking, trapping, character customization, skills, and perks that develop based on your in-game actions.
Real zombies that don't run. (Unless you tell them to in the sandbox menu.)
Imaginative challenge scenarios and an instant action "Last Stand" mode, in addition to the usual sandbox and survival gameplay.
