Description:
The Gospel of Nicodemus, also known as the Acts of Pilate, unfolds as a sacred narrative of profound depth, focusing on the passion, resurrection, and descent into hell of Jesus Christ. Although not part of the canonical Scriptures, this apocryphal gospel reflects the voices of those moved by Christ’s suffering and victory. In it, Nicodemus, a Pharisee who once sought Jesus by night, emerges as a quiet witness to divine truth.
Through Nicodemus' eyes, we glimpse the unjust trial of the Messiah, as Pontius Pilate wrestles with the innocence of Christ, and the heavens bear witness to His crucifixion. The text also gives voice to those in the underworld—souls who long for the dawn of redemption as Christ descends to liberate them from the grip of death.
A reverent reflection on Christ’s triumphant victory over sin and death, The Gospel of Nicodemus invites believers to marvel at the mystery of salvation and the power of God’s redemptive love, even in the shadowy depths of the earth. Through its portrayal of mercy and divine justice, this text echoes the hope that Christ’s light shines for all who seek Him.
