The ARK Survival Evolved Beer Barrel can be fueled with either water from a water container or pipes from an intake. After placing 40 Thatch and 50 of any regular berry in it, Beer Liquid will be created after 6 hours.
Inserting a Water Jar into the barrel will then remove one unit of Beer Liquid and create a Beer Jar, which can be moved to a players inventory and consumed like a normal water jar.
Beer Liquid is a resource obtainable by mixing water, 40 Thatch, and 50 Berries in a Beer Barrel for 6 hours. Beer liquid is used with a Water Jar to craft the Beer Jar inside the Beer Barrel
To drink from the Beer Jar, highlight it in your inventory and select Use Item, or put it on your hot bar and press the designated key. Your character will become 'intoxicated' for 2 minutes shown by a beer jar symbol and countdown, giving you increased insulation and damage resistance and reduced water consumption, but will rapidly deplete your Stamina.png Stamina. After 2 minutes, your character will be in 'hangover' state for 1 minute, keeping your stamina at 0 and preventing the effects of any Stews.
Beer can only be consumed once every 5 minutes.
