Can you still use Windows 7 in 2025?
Windows 7 was released more than 15 years ago. So, it begs the question, can you still use it in 2025? Released in 2009, it quickly rose to significance and became one of the most popular and successful versions of Windows, and one of the most successful operating systems ever created, of course behind Linux.
Now a shell of its former self, mainstream support ended in 2015, and extended support ended in 2020. Since then, software support had been dwindling slowly but significantly, with one of the most recent examples being Roblox and soon Minecraft. So, how usable is Windows 7 today? Could someone like YOU use this OS as your daily driver, I'm looking at those who don't use it. Even though Linux is likely your best bet in a year from now guarantee. I hope you enjoy this video.

Important Amendments
While I got Steam working, it does not work anymore and this is an older version. I was able to maintain the older version by starting Windows, and subsequently, Steam, while not connected to the Internet. I was also able to perform this strategy while being quick enough on Windows 8.1. I'm going to seek a permanent solution, even though most games require at least Windows 10 nowadays.
As of the time of this video's production and release, standard Minecraft is still playable on Windows 7. Support for it, alongside Windows 8.1, macOS 10.11, 10.12, 10.13 and 10.14 will all end in March.
The computer used for this video needs to get new thermal paste. It has overheated once, among other things, and so performance and experience will be much more pleasant if you give it a go.
Since my "Windows 7 for a week" video, many things have changed, such as the status of Embedded POSReady 7's support and the functionality of Steam. I provide this because I feel it is important.
