MIDI 201: Layering Synths with a Custom Action (Rapid-Fire Reaper Tutorial Ep45)

In this episode I want to show you how I recreate a really cool feature from Logic Pro X. Logic Pro has a system similar to folders in Reaper called Stacks, but with stacks a really nice feature is that you can put a MIDI region (their terminology for MIDI item) on the stack, and it’ll play out of all soft synths on the track, which is super useful for layering synths to create lush textures.

You can do this in Reaper but it takes some setting up to do. I’ll show you multiple ways, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, but I have made a custom action to hopefully make this easier on folks!
