In this video, we'll test a tip from experienced tire mechanics: how to loosen the most stubborn, rusted wheel bolt when the others have already given in. The method involves tightening two adjacent bolts with excessive torque to redistribute the force, press the wheel more firmly against the hub, and reduce the force required to loosen the problematic fastener.
In the experiment, one bolt is tightened with 350 Nm (three times the standard), and two adjacent bolts are also tightened significantly above the recommended torque. The force required to loosen the most stubborn bolt is then measured. The results allow us to assess whether this method of loosening the bolt works in practice.
