My shawl is knitted with Lana Gatto EMPIRE yarn, 400m per 100g. It takes exactly one skein.
Unfortunately, this yarn has been discontinued. However, this tutorial is not tied to any yarn, and you can knit with any yarn.
I recommend choosing a lightweight yarn no thicker than 150m per 50g. For example:
Drops Air 150m in 50g (recommended hook size 4-4.5) and any other cords with alpaca inside
Drops Alpaca 167m in 50g (recommended hook size 3-3.5)
BEFORE KNITTING THE SHAWL, TRY KNITTING A SAMPLE WITH DIFFERENT HOOK SIZE NUMBERS TO FIND THE GAUGE YOU LIKE BEST
DIMENSIONS of my shawl:
160cm total length of the straight side and 49cm in the middle (widest part)
