Plants vs. Zombies is a tower defense video game developed and published by PopCap Games for Windows and Mac OS X in 2009. The game went on sale on May 5, 2009, and became available on Steam the same day. A simplified version of the game for iPhone and iPod touch of all generations was also released on February 14, 2010. Development of an Xbox 360 version was announced at Casual Connect in July 2009. Also on April 1, 2010, a version of Plants vs. Zombies HD was released for iPad, including an additional minigame, "Buttery Popcorn." A version for Windows Phone 7 was released on June 22, 2011.
