This project took over a little under a year to complete, I needed enough footage to put the entire thing together and this was a HUGE success, it shows not only the good clips and moments but the bad ones too. An important part of recording and taking video is knowing that not every clip is going to be perfect. You will end up taking about 100 clips and maybe only 25 of them will be perfect for use and that is completely okay. Understanding that it takes time and work to get those clips that you dream of is the type of thought process that will get you to where you want to be. Keep trying, never give up.
