In this video I show you how to disable HPET (High Precision Event Timer) on Windows 11 to reduce input delay and get smoother, more responsive gameplay — completely free and takes under 2 minutes.
HPET is a system timer that can cause inconsistent frame timing and added input latency. By disabling it, Windows falls back to the TSC (Time Stamp Counter) which is faster and more consistent on modern CPUs — especially AMD Ryzen processors.
Commands used in this video:
bcdedit /set useplatformtick yes
bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
Run CMD as Administrator before entering these commands. Restart your PC after for changes to take effect.
✅ Works on Windows 11
✅ Free performance — no downloads needed
✅ Especially effective on AMD Ryzen builds
✅ Noticeable improvement in competitive FPS games
