This Smallrig Quick Release Plate Has A Secret
One of the most annoying things with quick release plates is they're only quick release once they're on.
This Manfrotto style plate from Smallrig has an Arca-Swiss rail instead of mounting screws (you can still use screws if needed) so it can just slide on and off any camera cage with an Arca-Swiss rail on the bottom.
I don't know why I'd never heard of this before because it's such a useful piece of gear if you're always rigging up and derigging a camera.
I leave a regular plate on my FX30 because it is going to be more secure and I leave it rigged up most of the time, but now for my a7IV, I use this plate because I'm constantly changing how I use it.
This would also be pretty useful for putting it on gimbals, I just don't use gimbals much.
Did anyone else know this was a thing or has anyone else used them before?
