How to create a MAC OS USB Bootable Drive
Simple steps on how to make a USB bootable drive for any Mac OS, whether it's OS Sierra, El Capitan, or even OS Lion.
SUDO CODE for Terminal (copy and paste):
Remember to replace the name USBSTICK with the name of your USB drive!
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/usbstick --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app
This USB bootable drive is useful if you ever need erase your hard drive and reinstall.
To boot up into the USB, make sure the laptop/computer is shut down. Then hold down the OPTIONS key. Press power on the laptop. It will then boot up with a menu showing the USB drive to boot into.
