Adjectives that look like Adverbs
Some adjectives end in -ly and sometimes get mistaken for adverbs.
For example, costly, friendly, lonely, lovely, ugly, etc. We cannot make these words into adverbs in the usual way. Sometimes we can use an expression.
She spoke to the students in a friendly way.
