As part of the Low Content Book Empire course, this next series of videos demonstrates options for designing your book interiors. I will create notebook paper in each software and discuss pros and cons.

In this video I demonstrate creating notebook paper with InDesign. The biggest advantage to InDesign IMO is the Step and Repeat function, which is perfect for creating evenly spaced lines and even dot grid paper. Indesign also has lots of alignment features and guides, and displays your margins and bleeds so you always know where your creation boundaries are!

The disadvantage is InDesign is available by monthly subscription. You can subscribe to it on its own (without the rest of Adobe CC), which makes the price more reasonable. You can layout book covers in it as well, so you really don't need any other tools unless you need to edit graphics and images.

Using the proper tools for the job is part of the cost of doing business. For an alternative that is a one time fee, check out the next design demo of Affinity Publisher.
