I ride from Queenstown to Dordrecht in the Eastern Cape, in South Africa. Without knowing it, I find myself riding across a small part of the Transkei, the homeland of the Xhosa, the ethnicity of Nelson Mandela. After climbing a first hill, I find myself back in a typical African landscape, with house scattered everywhere around the road, making endless villages with people living their life next to the road. I am definitely out of the European side of South Africa, and back in Africa. People are very friendly on the road, but a man warns me... he says that I must have things to protect myself from people who might take chances... As I climb the first slopes of the Drakensberg, the dry landscape is fantastic. I finally arrive in Dordrecht. It feels like a forgotten town at the edge of the world. People are always friendly. South Africa is such a wonderful country to discover.
