Our CRM stock analysis looks at one of the most notable growth stories the tech world has ever seen. Salesforce is the original SaaS company, so why don't they use SaaS metrics to describe their business? Who knows, but their business is becoming increasingly harder to decipher as they acquire more and more capabilities, a strategy that's led to the emergence of $48 billion of goodwill on their balance sheet. Salesforce may be the biggest SaaS company out there but they're hardly the best. Activist investors are circling as the company CEO goes on political rants and promotes divisive DEI policies. Perhaps if the activity investors can manage to clean up the mess a bit, the company might be able to start generating some serious profits for investors with their 70+ gross margins. We're passing on $CRM stock since their best days might be behind them unless they start focusing on running this more like a business instead of a charity.
