Defending Mass Executions
This week, Ali Khomeini, the grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, defended the execution of thousands of political prisoners in 1988. Since then, human rights activists — and even some Iranian reformists — have spoken out against the mass murder. But the Khomeini family is happy with their version of events, which says it ws done for the peace of the country.
