Turns out the idea of smart cameras goes as far back as 1998. It all began with an obscure operating system called DigitaOS. It may seem like a small thing, but it was incredibly powerful for the time and still can do things most modern cameras cannot do. Fast forward a few years and we've seen attempts with Android on cameras, but nothing that has stuck. Will there ever be a time where our cameras run the same operating system, and custom apps can be made easily for them? Do we even want that? Curious on your thoughts.
