OS Virtualization: Memory and CPU Virtualization (Intel VT-x / AMD-V)

. Here I talk about the first part you should look at when getting into running virtual machines on your computer. The first one is ensuring you have ample memory capacity on your computer as you'll need to supply memory to both your host OS and the guest OS running in the virtual machine. Having too little can cause problems due to a lack of memory.
The second big item is enabling CPU virtualization for your Intel or AMD processor. INtel processors refer to it as VT-x or VT-d. AMD is simply AMD-V.
Either way, this is disabled by default in the BIOS of your computer and needs to be enabled. This will provide more functionality and resources to the guest OS of the virtual machine increasing its performance and capabilities.
All this can be done from the BIOS setup menu on your computer. _
