What is address poisoning?

It’s a type of a scam or a hack which has been becoming more common recently.

Here’s how it works:

• A scammer looks for an address they want to attack (usually containing valuable NFTs or a lot of crypto) - typically it’s a vault account.
• They create an address that’s very similar - especially first and last characters.
• Then they send a tiny amount of crypto or an NFT to your wallet so it’s added to the Transaction History.
• The scammer is now hoping that you will copy and paste this address and send them your funds.
Here’s how you can protect yourself against this scam:

• Always carefully check your transaction details.
• Add addresses you often use to your trusted list and give them names you can easily recognise.
