[2.11] Interest - AlbertoG [Hidden Gems #2]
Hey there! I'm finally back with another hidden gem. You might remember Attain by the same creator, which I've been trying to get rated now for months. AlbertoG has gone unnoticed for way too long and its time he got some creator points.
If you've ever read my reviews before: You'll know that I have a huge emphasis on gameplay. And I think this level is a bit of a downgrade from Attain gameplay-wise unfortunately. This level has more odd timings with less indication of where to click. You see this mostly in the first part where there isn't any indication before the slope effect. I found also that there were more orb timings. In the ball and spider there were also some relatively tight spaces I wouldn't add to a 6* level. In addition I found some of the transitioning odd. For example the transition into the ship at 55% didn't have enough reaction time for me, especially since you go into it at x4 speed. Although fairly fluid to play. If you practice, it doesn't have much consistency. Still nice job Alberto. c:
He really stepped up his game with the colors and effects on this one. You can see quite a few unconventional color combinations throughout, such as pink/blue, orange/green, I'm sure you get the point. Everything is just masterfully blended together and doesn't clash. Which is hard to pull off well. Props to you Alberto! c: As for the effects all of them are super dynamic and have many layers/depth to them. For example: The first part has a central rotating square, with an outer glow circulation effect. with another rotating set of rectangles beyond that. I especially also love the slope effect in the first part! Its innovative effects like this that make a huge difference. However I wish the first ball part was a bit less dull. Some air decoration could've been beneficial to bringing this part a little more life. Despite that minor issue, I really adore the level as a whole. Nice job Alberto! c:
