RENAULT SPORT: DEVELOPING FORCE
Bold, agile and focused - Renault Sport is no stranger to success. In its former works guise, it was a giant of the sport - its 2006 R26 one of F1’s iconic thoroughbreds, which, in the hands of Fernando Alonso, took the squad to a second-straight drivers’ and constructors’ title double.
But Renault has scored even more crowns as an engine supplier…Six in the 1990s with Williams and Benetton - as the power behind Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher. Followed by four-straight titles with Red Bull Racing from 2010 to 2013 - all of them part of Sebastian Vettel’s golden run.
Now in the second year of its return as a works effort, Renault has again upped the pace, as the outfit aims to put itself in title contention by 2020 - a realistic goal endorsed by some very big names. Click on the video and tell us what you think in the comments below.
