Ok so idk if it's just me but I've had this issue where my Ring cameras kept disconnecting and the only way to get it back online was to go thru the setup wizard (which isn't easy when you need a ladder to get up to them). But this is a problem not only for the ladder but for when your parents live a few states away and it's for their home.
SO others have reported it and ideally, Ring should be fixing the problem. What's going on is that if there are 2 or more APs with the same network name, the Ring cameras get confused and refuse connecting alltogether.
The only workaround people are saying is to have separate wifi networks per AP, SOOO this video I show you how to add extra wifi networks to each AP separate from your other networks SO it does nothing to your existing wifi network. You'll just connect nearby ioT devices to their closest AP with their individual wifi networks "garage_ap" or "living_ap". Each AP I think can host up to 4 different Wi-Fi networks SO there is no issues doing this.
My video is walking you thru this. You will need these APs paired to a controller BUT it does not need to be up all the time. You dont even need to go out and purchase a cloud key (unless you want to access settings anytime anywhere). You could just install it on your laptop and close the controller software when you are done making changes.
