First thing I have to say is: thank god for the gorilla pod. little flexy plastic tripod with rubber bits. lets you get a steady shot from just about everywhere. Driving shots look like shit when the camera isn't steady
God I have to get back to Oregon. Such a beautiful place. My Dad and I decided to visit Portland en route (with all of my belongings) from Santa Cruz CA to Boston Mass. It was a huge bloody detour, but it was very much worth it. The normal course of the Northern California diaspora is to Oregon (where they hate us Californians) so I have a number of very dear friends currently going to college there. I met with my friend Clare for two blessed hours and got back on the road.
I had always wanted to make a video for this, but I knew it needed overcast gloomy weather somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. I couldn't pass up the opportunity. Something about early Modest Mouse just seems to breathe the cold rainy weather of that area.
