Cheapest prints? Portable photo printer comparison
There are so many options out there for portable photo printers.
The Canon Selphy lineup of 4x6 printers produces the best image quality at the cheapest price per print. The downside is that they are large and not as portable as other options.
I have a Canon Selphy CP910, which is a discontinued model. The current model from Canon is the Selphy CP1500, which can be battery powered with a Canon NB-CP2LI battery.
The two other dye sublimation printers shown are the Kodak C300R and Polaroid Hi-Print. I do not think their print quality is as good as the Selphy. The Kodak C300R prints 3x3 photos. The Polaroid Hi-Print can to 2x3 or 2x2 with space for writing.
Instax cameras, printers, and digital hybrids are lots of fun, but the cost per print is expensive.
Zink printers are the smallest and most portable. The prints have sticky backs, which are perfect for crafts or journaling.
I would avoid the receipt paper printers due to concerns about the chemicals used on thermal paper. I would not give one to a child.

*Zink*
20 sheets for $10. 50 cents each.
*Receipt paper*
2 1/4" by 50 feet. 10 rolls for $7. Around 880 pictures. $0.009 each.
