CME WIDI MASTER - RANGE TEST PROTOYPE III - 60M - APRIL 2020
The video is taken by our CTO in his French garden. Watch this long range test using Bluetooth 5 long range phy implemented in the latest firmware of WIDI Master Prototype III (April 2020).
This test is conducted between 2x prototypes III without the plastic case.
BLE 5 uses a low frequency physical layer to increase range, it seems it does not affect latency. We will do more tests to confirm that and with plastic casing, as it might influence the results.
We transmit fast MIDI Clock and MIDI Notes from the sequencer to the sound module.
Our CTO went 60 meters into his garden and was eventually limited by the power cord.
