This video details how to remove the air dam from a 2014, 2015 and 2016 GMC Sierra. It's a very easy removal, you will only need a 10mm crescent wrench.
This process should be very similar on a 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado.
2016- 2018's will be slightly different, but you should be able to apply the same knowledge to those trucks!
