Case's description by Ryo's player
Basically, Ryo is a sucker for attention, he wants people to know he exists and he wants them to remember him. He spent the whole time trying to get people to like him and trust him just to make sure he had some kind of control over them in the end.
During the fifth chapter, they learned that people outside of the killing game were watching what was happening and his number one idol since he was a child was actually cheering for him, it... sparked something inside of him I guess ?? So when chapter 6 came around and they were stuck in others' body (your body had changed for the person you cared about the most, obviously he had Naoki's appearance) he just knew be had to do something. He had to do better and he wanted to prove that HE was gonna do something so memorable that he would definitely get the number one spot. You have to know that he also really REALLY like the whole aspects of executions as he thought of then as the best ending you could get (besides wining a trial obviously). Be be had been clapping at them for a few times now. And he had always said that people had a great ending blablabla.
So his goal was either to
1) win the trial which would be amazing and the best thing he could do
2) get executed and offer a great show - I don't really know how to explain it elseway whatever
He went on to do the best murder possible so that he wouldn't be found.
Now on about his victims.
He knew Minako trusted him and he respected her in some kind of way. She was important, one of the best victim you could kill - the empress of Japan, that'd be amazing to be the one actually killing her. And of course, she was also the reason why Naoki died. That wasn't so bad of a plan to kill her. Besides he had already told her to keep her head up !
He didn't really care that much about Leder, he had a fight with her earlier in the game and even though she had lost her memories he was pissed at her attitude. Also she was in Tatsuru's body who he despised so..
He called Minako and Leder for a talk, so he could make up with Leder with the empress' help, drugged them and killed them afterwards.
That's when Ryo got a little over his head and went to kill Akira. He wanted to do something so memorable that it actually backfired. He hid the body so no one would know they were dead and no one found them before the trial actually, but when he had just won Monobird called him out on his cheating and he got executed - but for a little while everyone thought he had win the trial, that was a great moment to be alive.
Oh, Also, his execution starts of as him being great amazing look at him go yadayadayada but he ends up having a stupid death and he is robbed of the spotlight, that's what he gets for being a shitty person.
Oh I also should mention that Naoki himself was one of the main reasons for him to kill as well. Naoki killed Kumi and Selena so he would be able to escape with Ryo (and Minako) and he thought of it as such an amazing thing to do ? Like someone would care about him enough to go that far???
So when he had the opportunity, plus being in naoki's body he thought that,,; he had to so something to prove he was worth of his love-
