What Is SSID ?
SSID (service set identifier) means. A network (name) ID created according to the IEEE 802.11 wireless network standard to prevent conflict of multiple wireless networks (Wi-Fi) and to be easily found between the network list Dec.
When specifying the SSID name, a maximum of 32 characters can be used without Turkish characters. In this way, you can easily distinguish the network name you specify from others in an environment where there is a dense wireless network. Replace complex Device Id; SSID
SSID gets rid of the complexity of each device's unique Device Id and makes things easier with simpler and more personalized names to identify. Smart devices we use have a unique MAC address. The normal wireless network IDs of modems also contain very complex numeric characters. Because these were difficult to keep in mind, the need for SSID arose.
Each Wi-Fi name is an SSID when you open the Wi-Fi tab from your smartphone. Once you join a network, your device stores data about this SSID in its memory. If you are within range of the corresponding SSID, the connection will occur automatically when you want to connect again later.
If you have more than one SSID with the same name?
Such questions may come to mind, especially in multi-storey sites or city centers. If you have more than one network with the same name, your device will first try to connect to the modem where it receives the strongest Wi-Fi signal. If you've checked in before, it's all right. Direct connection will occur. But if it will be connected for the first time, you can easily connect using the WPS button. If there is no support for WPS, you will start experimenting with the password created by the network creator.
How to change the SSID name?
If your internet is newly connected, the SSID name you want is created during installation if you ask the service provider staff to install it. But if the installation has been made and you are still using the name set automatically by the service provider, you can easily change it by doing the following order of operations.
In general, it is written on the label under the modems, but in our country, these two addresses are used. Open the page, whichever of the addresses 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 opens.
After the login screen appears, the user name becomes ‘admin’ if it is not specifically specified by the service provider. The password is the name of the service provider. Example 'turktelekom, superonline'. This information is on the label at the bottom of the modem.
After successfully logging in, decipher the ‘Advanced Wi-Fi Settings‘ option in your interface. It can rarely take place in a different name. If this option is not available, look for similar options such as ‘Wi-Fi settings‘ or ‘Wi-Fi setup‘.
