In early 2017, the United States federal government announced that the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) would be transitioning from DUNS to UEI numbers. This change is intended to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the procurement process. Beginning May 1st, all entities applying for or renewing their SAM.gov registration will need to provide their UEI number instead of their DUNS number.
