🥾 SILENT HIKING IN THE PEAK DISTRICT
Sometimes the best way to experience the outdoors is without saying anything at all.
For this adventure, there is no commentary and no unnecessary distraction.
Just footsteps on the trail.
Running water.
Wind across the moors.
The sounds of camp.
And the natural atmosphere of the Peak District National Park.
Starting from Fairbrook, I begin the climb towards the higher ground around Seal Stones, leaving the noise of everyday life behind with every step.
💧 HEADING TOWARDS SEAL STONES
With everything I need carried in my backpack, I make my way deeper into the Peak District, stopping to collect water before continuing towards my camping spot.
Seal Stones sits amongst the wild moorland and dramatic gritstone scenery of the Kinder Scout area, making it a fantastic location to slow down and simply enjoy being outside.
Eventually, it’s time to stop walking.
⛺ A QUIET NIGHT IN THE PEAK DISTRICT
For this wild camp I’m using my Durston X-Mid 2P Solid.
Tent pitched.
Backpack down.
Dinner on.
And nowhere else I need to be.
This is one of my favourite parts of wild camping.
After spending hours hiking through a landscape, you get to stay behind when everyone else heads home.
The trails become quieter.
The light changes.
And for a few hours, this small patch of moorland becomes home.
🌅 A GLORIOUS MORNING
After a peaceful night, I wake to a beautiful morning high in the Peak District.
Tent open.
Mountains and moorland outside.
And most importantly…
the first coffee of the day.
With the drone back in the air, I capture the scale and isolation of the surrounding landscape before eventually packing everything away and heading back onto the trail.
No rush.
No noise.
Just another morning in the hills.
