How do we even measure the performance of a Mac device?
It comes down to four main components:
CPU: the brain of the computer that controls every operation
disk speed: write/read speeds of your hard drive
RAM: in charge of multitasking between apps
GPU: handles all graphics and rendering
Here are some apps that can help you measure your Mac performance:
#1 Activity Monitor
Shows a list of processes that are running on your Mac simultaneously
Shows how much memory these processes consume and lets you quit them
Fun fact:
Disk speed is mainly affected by total storage exceeding 80% — your SSD will likely slow down if you have 20% less of it.
#2 CleanMyMac X
All-in-one suite notarized by Apple
Cleans your system junk
Optimizes your RAM
Has a quick Menu that helps manage CPU, memory, and battery health

#3 Blackmagic Design Disk Speed Test
Measures your disk speed
Useful for video editors
#4 Geekbench 5
Measures the performance of your Mac’s CPU
Lets you compare your CPU score to other people who have the same device with the same specs as you
Tip: Use the CleanMyMac X Maintenance module for optimization.
