Definition of Bar Notation
The process of writing repeating decimals or repeating pattern of digits by using a bar is called Bar Notation.
More about Bar Notation
Bar notation can be put with single or multi-digit repeating numbers or repeating patterns of decimals.
For a single-digit repeating decimal, the repeating number is written once and a bar is put over it.
For a multi-digit repeating decimal, the repeating pattern is written once and a bar is put over the digits from the first to the last one.
Examples of Bar Notation
= 0.666666 and can be written as 0.
= 0.428571428571428571 and can be written as 0.
