This tutorial explains how to apply textures in Illustrator. We are using vector shapes and also vector textures in this case which has an advantage over using non-vector graphics such as png's or jpeg as you can scale them to any size without loss of quality.

I will explain how to perform the various elements step-by-step so you can transfer these skills to your own designs in the future. I will teach you how to use Transparency and Make Mask as well as some helpful shortcuts and tips along the way.
