Install your pfSense firewall - this is the most powerful router operating system and is a free and open-source operating system for routers and firewalls.
pfSense can be installed on most commodity hardware, including old computers and embedded systems. pfSense is typically configured and operated through a user-friendly web interface, making administration easy even for users with limited networking knowledge. Generally, one never needs to use a terminal or edit config files to configure the router. Even software updates can be run from the web UI.
We will use the IP address range for our Internal LAN “10.0.20.0/24” subnet, but we are security mindful and we will add our second interface and name it to DMZ (a perimeter network that protects an organization's internal LAN and suggests your business-critical servers from untrusted traffic) move all of your critical servers there, and we will use IP range “10.0.30.0/24” subnet, the third interface, of course, we will add for WAN or for internet traffic which is always named an untrusted or public network, and we will use a static IP on our WAN side interface because we will allow some inbound traffic from the internet to publish some internal service over the internet, otherwise DHCP or auto-assigned IP is fine.
