Feathering a softbox to finesse your lighting today, it's that easy. Feathering is a great technique to allow you to fine tune how the light falls onto your subject.
John shows you how you can adjust the direction of the light from a soft box to affect how the light falls onto the foreground, model or background. This technique is called feathering and it easy to learn how to use it.
Sample images are shown in the video as well as in camera footage allowing you to see the results in realtime.
Simple and small adjustments to the direction and position of the light makes so much difference to how you can control and master the light. All this with just a single light.
As a point of interest the size of the soft box does not matter here. The same results can be achieve with a large, medium or small soft box. It's the technique that is important, not the size of the soft box.
