This character creation was hard for me to do. It hasn't been long since his death & it is still very fresh. I wanted to do this with as much respect as possible. Chadwick Boseman became & icon, an image, for a very important topic. Equality. This has become even more forefront in the last year & I think his passing hits harder because of it. Black Panther is a political movie, bringing an important topic to mainstream media.
So why is this topic important to me? Why do I feel the heaviness of it in making this character creation? If you know me, or have seen what I look like on Instagram, you know I can't get any whiter. lol. I am a predominantly Irish/German woman born with blonde hair & blue eyes.
So yes, why is this topic important to me? A lot of reasons. I have a lot of poc in my family. Family is important to me. I was also raised that we are all equal. So, growing up to find that that's not true is heartbreaking. As someone with a big heart that just wants to love all people, it devastates me that people are treated differently because of the color of their skin. That they have to fear for the lives of themselves and family because of the COLOR OF THEIR SKIN. It's pigment in the skin called melanin. Every single one of us has it.
It makes me physically ill that people can have that much hatred in their heart. If it does that to me, I can't possibly know how poc feel. I don't pretend to.
To all that read this know you are welcome on my channel no matter what your beliefs, your gender, your hobbies or your skin color, etc. Treat me with respect I will do the same. I judge actions & nothing else. If I lose subscribers because they read this and disagree, then so be it. I'm just here for the love.
