Port Forwarding Modem or Router for Remote Viewing Hikvision Devices
In this video we explain how to port forward your existing modem or router to remote view Hikvision devices (NVR, DVR and cameras). Most routing modems and routers can be easily configured in the firewall section to port forward incoming traffic through ports 80 and 8000 to the internal IP address of the Hikvision NVR/DVR or camera as required by Hikvision firmware. Port forwarding must be done with older Hikvision hardware that cannot download the newest firmware that allows for Hik-Connect cloud based remote viewing by device serial number.
