TOY EYES 👀
The most expressive part of a toy is the eyes; they reflect the character of the doll. For a doll, they are like a reflection of the soul. Not every crocheter would consider making their own eyes. Most prefer alternative methods, such as purchasing glass, plastic, or plaster accessories. A crochet doll's eyes should blend harmoniously with the rest of the item and be made of the same material as the doll itself. Therefore, this method is especially suitable for crocheted toys.
TYPES AND SHAPES OF DOLL EYES
Eyes can be made in any shape, as your imagination allows. They can be round or oval. You can also find voluminous or embroidered eyes on the doll itself.
Their appearance depends on the toy's concept; the eyelids can be half-closed or completely absent; in rare cases, the doll is made sleeping.
The color of the iris also matches the toy's color scheme; blue or brown are most commonly used.
Note! Particular attention should be paid to the knitting; if the toy is crocheted, the eyes should be thicker. If the doll's body is loosely knit, the eyes can be made more delicate.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
First, you need to decide what kind of eyes you want and what kind of doll you want them for. This will determine the number of colors and whether you will be using a crochet hook or knitting needles.
