Battery change on Mini R50 R52 R53 car-key
My wife got herself a Mini in the middle of July. Or rather, a Mini Cooper S Cabrio (2006-R52).
I picked up the car for her (see: • Das neue Auto meiner Frau - Abholen in Vöc... ) and problems arose on the drive home.
Even before driving off, I noticed that the air conditioning wasn't working. And on the drive up the mountain, over the Arlberg Pass, the coolant started to boil, and I had to stop (see • Motorschaden am Mini Cooper S Cabrio!!! #m... ).
This short is now a short part of the series on how I repair the car. And how I have to do more and more to finally find the fault... !!!SPOILER WARNING!!! the head gasket!
And then, of course, I put it back together and get it in top condition, at least the technology - design is then my wife's job.
After my test showed that the thermostat wasn't working I ordered a new one, and while I'm waiting for the new one, I'm repairing the remote control function of the mini key in this short.
In the next short the cooling water pump has to be removed, as the new thermostat does not solve the problem.
