Audi TT mk1 rear passenger storage bin lid - magnet lid Mod
Removing the passengers side panel to give it a thorough clean the plastic latch broke on the storage cubbyhole door (it is 18-odd years old and a bit fragile at the best of times) so I decided to fix it by glueing small magnets to the inside of the lid and panel (the side of the plastic 'pocket' starts a couple of centimetres below the lip of the opening so there's room for the lower magnet).
It works very well and closes with a very satisfying 'clump'.

Upper magnet was part no. F1544-10
Lower magnet was part no. F30105-4
They come nickel plated and completely smooth - here they look a bit rough as they were scored with a Dremel to provide a key for the glue (I used water activated Gorilla Glue).
