The Octava Chamber Orchestra is an ensemble of Seattle's finest professional and free-lance musicians who have come together solely to provide first rate performances of great music.
We play the music of the masters such as Bach, Corelli, Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn, Grieg, etc., and also champion brand new music by the cutting edge 21st century composers whom we adore.
The Octava Chamber Orchestra was originally formed by Maestro Johan Louwersheimer and Concertmaster Matthew Weiss in 1991 after they met as students at the University of Washington School of Music. The group put on a number of great performances in the USA and Canada before disbanding after Johan completed his studies and returned to his home in Abbotsford Canada. We reformed in the summer of 2007 and gave our premiere concert on Sunday September 16th 2007 in the beautiful mansion of Don and Marty Sands in the Highlands along with guest artists Urmila Nagar and Ujwal Nagar.
